Wouldn't the only reason to have a "raffle" be to allow folks access other than those willing to line-up early (local to the arena)?

Also to force fans to download an app, for which I'm sure the permissions it requires will allow them to find ways to monetize the fan base in new and exciting ways.

Choice. Another corporation has decided that for you to experience your team the way that you want to, you need to download their app, give you their data for them to optimize and monetize, etc. All to stand outside of the arena.

Modern douche corporate behaviour.
