OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

I'm pretty sure their odds of winning a chip are way the fuck higher than last year and higher than teams like Minnesota, Miami, Detroit, Cleveland, Houston, etc. I think only the knicks, sixers and celtics are above them in the east. And okc and Spurs in the west.

I think the bookies are pricing in that 82 games of BI in a season may yield a similar or higher win total 45-50 games of a coasting Kawhi. With maybe some small uncertainty priced in of a lengthy suspension or a shocking no trade situation.

I wouldnt push back too hard if one had the Nuggets, Celtics or Wolves over us, and i can maybe buy Philly just of hype. Not the rest though

I don't mind it. I get the uncertainty about his health and effort level over the course of a season vs 82 games of BI. I'd push back harder if the championship odds looked like that, but they don't.

That could be it, but that would also be dumb. Ingram is the definition of empty calories offence. He brought a skill set we needed badly because someone needs to take shots, but he had a pretty neutral impact on winning overall when you consider his good but just good scoring ability is balanced out by his below average D.

Shit, if we just look at a cumulative metric like VORP and WS instead of the rate statistics that ignore durability (which, lol...Ingram is not durable, but sure he was last year)

VORP/WS

Kawhi: 5.3/9.2
Ingram: 1.7/4.6

Even with Ingram playing 12 more games, it's not remotely close in total value brought.

Yeah idk if it's right or wrong or what, but I'm assuming that is the reason based on the championship odds looking far different at least on fanduel. They've got the 6th best odds.
