OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Good article, but he's not really taking injuries into account and specifically, the over use of Kyle Lowry into account. As well.....DD played too many minutes (should be in the 35 minute range), but the writer assumes that T Ross will play more, instead of less. T Ross was played heavily out of necessity, not preference. Ross was a 12 PER guard last season who showed flashes of special ability, but really only flashes. In a perfect world, he's now coming off of the bench and seeing closer to 22 minutes a night as opposed to 29. JJ should really be the starting SF, but he doesn't have to be a heavy minute starter. If I was designing the rotation, assuming everyone is healthy and productive, it would look like this:

C: Val (32)/Amir (8)/Stiemsa (8)
PF: Amir (20)/Patterson (20)/Johnson-Hansbrough (8)
SF: Johnson (15)/Ross (20)/ DD (13)
SG: DD (20)/ Williams (16)/Lowry (12)
PG: Lowry (20)/ Vasquez (20)/ Williams (8)

Everyone getting roughly the amount of burn they're accustomed to. The only role there that I'd be concerned about is Ross, who I'd like to see get some SG minutes, but that might have to wait until Williams is in another city.

As for Bruno & Bebe, they can worry about hustling their ass off in practice, and garbage time for the time being. Both are longer term projects that will benefit from being around a winning basketball club.

Hansborough seems to be more in the rotation than Stiemsa based on the preseason so far.

Good, he should be. I just didn't know where to slot the other stiff and I didn't really want to ignore him.

He should be end of the bench, garbage time/foul trouble meat and nothing more. Give Amir more C minutes, and Tyler the PF minutes that Amir would vacate.

@WojYahooNBA: The NBA draft lottery reform has been voted down at Board of Governors meeting, league sources tell Yahoo Sports. System stays.

I was optimistic about last year's Raps....this year I'm ****ing pumped. This team has a legit shot at an ECF appearance.

The team has depth, some experience, and is good at key positions. Having said all that, I think the year comes down to Jonas. I am hoping he makes big improvements this yeas.

All about Ross and Jonas. If they can turn into legit average or average+ starters, this team is really damn good.
