OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Two more chances for this frankennets team to win. Age 33, 32, 29 next year. 34, 33, 30 the last year.

And i hope to god somehow the cap actually matters and they need to gut the rest of their team.

Holy shit, how long did he stay?

Heh. He didn't stick around for long.

Had to repeat myself a few times that my house wasn't an AirBnB, and he had the wrong address. Dude then pulls out his printed-out reservation to show me, and weirdly it actually did have my address on it.

And I just tell him "Ok, that's great, but this is a private home, not an AirBnB. So you've been scammed, or you were given the wrong address. Either way though, you're not coming in here." And then he gathered up his stuff and walked back to the taxi that was still waiting out front.

So I guess my home probably has a terrible rating on AirBnB now. There's one potential side hustle out the window!

Yeah, Brooklyn has some questions, but there's unfortunately a path for them to be really, really good.

- Blake was actually good for them, but came for league minimum...are they paying him to stay?
- Dinwiddie will almost definitely turn down his player option and leave. It's not like they had him this year, but he would have been a hell of a bench scoring option or a trade chip if he wasn't injured
- They have their big 3, Joe Harris, Jordan, Shamet, Claxton and Johnson signed next year...so the supporting cast is thing. I like Claxton as a rotation big with some Jarret Allenish potential and maybe sooner rather than later but that's still not a lot and yeah, they're into 120 million on 3 players so there isn't room to do very much.

With that said, one guys who is getting paid and I don't know if he's worth it to them despite his all world shooting is Joe Harris. Brooklyn might be smart to see if they can turn Harris into a few better athletes who maybe don't shoot 47% from outside but are better defensively and better athletes.

- What ring chasers will show up? Those 3 will definitely attract a few. Green is good and can still play a role...but not 27 minutes a game man, c'mon. Some guys to watch will be Millsap, Dragic, Griffin, Lou Williams, PJ Tucker, Kanter, Batum, DRose, Rudy Gay, Danny Green, Melo, Dwight Howard.....it kind of sucks for those of us who don't want to see the Nets win fuck all, but there's a lot of good potential ring chasing veterans this summer. It's not like years past where it was 10 old stiffs, Rondo and a random Morris.

So trade Joe Harris for a few athletes who can defend and hit open shots and then grab a couple of the better names from that list and I think Brooklyn gets really good. Good enough to load manage their 3 stars through the regular season with a top 3 seed.

C-DeAndre/Claxton
PF- Durant/2 of Blake, Melo, Gay, Millsap, Jeff Green
SF-Whatever you turn Joe Harris into
SG-Kyrie/Shamet
PG- Harden/DRose

That could be...uhhh, really good.

I still dont get how the big 3 can make more than cap ceiling all by themselves. How are the raps not going over the cap too?

Raps are prob reluctant to go over the cap unless there is a scenario of "getting that missing piece" like Gasol.
