OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Turner isn't an upgrade though.

Would I consider Jake and picks for an upgrade? Sure. Cleveland would probably listen on Allen. Anthony Davis would probably be happy to push a trade here (and now it would make sense). Knicks might listen on the zesty king because Dolan is being cheap. Sabonis is always a thing, and with Kawhi-Scottie-CMB there's enough D to cover for his lack of rim protection probably.

After that it would be more about turning him into a centre with similar or better analytics in a smaller roll (Dayron, Goga, etc) to save the cap space.

Is Kawhi using the Raps as leverage again? Or is this legit?

Leverage for what? I keep hearing this and I don't get it. He's not a free agent using us to drive up the price (or make the uber billionaire owner do illegal shit to get him more money).

He wants an extension from the Clippers, they don't want to give it to him. He wouldn't need to use us to pressure the Clippers on an extension, he would just have to be willing to want a trade anywhere for that. He could use the Lakers, Golden State, Boston, whoever. But also, pressure wouldn't really work because the Clippers don't want to extend him. They're entirely content letting him play out the season and go to free agency.

The situation is simple. Kawhi is going into his last season on this deal, he's 34 yrs old and wants guaranteed big money on an extension (think 3/160). If the Clippers aren't going to give that to him, he'll go somewhere else. This might shock some people, but a city that he won a title with and who fucking loves him wouldn't make the worst retirement stop for him....if we're willing to pay him.

I would try to get Brook Lopez in a deal too if i could.

Also i get being careful, but dont be too careful to allow Masai sneak in

Is Masai going to spend multiple 1sts when Dallas is a lottery team and be a Kawhi knee flare up away from giving away multiple good lottery picks when he should be stacking around Flag?

I get the interest from Masai, but it would be conditional as well.

Just taking a quick look at what Masai could offer.

His best bet is something like Gafford + Klay + Caleb Martin + picks. But Dallas' pick situation is a bit fucked. The Hornets own their 2027. The 2028 is swap locked with OKC (so it's going to be swapped for OKC's), their 2028 is gone (but they have the Lakers 2028), the 2029 picks are a convoluted mess as well.

Yeah, our offer would we way cleaner. Ingram is a legitimately functioning #2 offensive option that is young enough to stick around for a few years of this retool and is good salary balast for a future trade for a star, Dick is a young body they might be able to fix, and a 2027 1st no fuckery involved.
