I never said he didn't care about the money. Just saying he can't even spend what he's got right now, so if he can force a stay in LA for another year, then it might be something worth risking.
 
it’s kind of crazy that Toronto is his only preference — has to be a first in the NBA.

The team is unrecognizable from his previous stint. I wonder what the pull is

I don't think it should be controversial at all if this goes down.

- Detroit is about to lose Jalen Duren for who the fuck knows how little, after already trading StewBeef. Paul Reed is their starting centre and they still need a #2 scorer.
- Knicks are the Knicks, class of the conference
- Boston gets full strength Tatum back, but appear to be on the cusp of trading Brown for a package stuff and futures.
- Cleveland is fine, but it doesn't look like the Lebron thing is happening and that Cleveland team loses to us in 5-6 if we had Kawhi

That's everyone who was better than us this season. Who has jumped over us from below if we turn Ingram into Kawhi? Fucking nobody. We're in a knife fight with Boston for 2nd best in the conference if this deal goes down and no one wants to see us in the playoffs. A problem for anyone.

I know they were everybody's hype beast at the time but I don't see why. They were a good but not elite 50 win team the year before and needed a string of some of the craziest playoff shit to ever happen to get where they ended up. Would have been the best rando playoff run in NBA history had they pulled it off.

I kind of struggle with the idea that any 19 win team is one guy away from being elite. I like the roster, but mainly because it's depth players have a habit of doing crazy shit for short periods of time in the playoffs

C - Zubac
PF - Pascal
SF - Toppin
SG - Nembhard
PG - The Haliban
6 - Nesmith
7 - McConnell
8 - Huff
9 - Walker

They're dangerous, but that's not a good defensive group. Haliburton would have to come back at the peak of his powers, and even then I think we're a fair bit better in the regular season than them. Playoff series? I'd rather someone else dealt with them, but I don't see who is dealing with Kawhi and Scottie over there.
 
I wonder if this motivates Bobby to spend another 1st to get off of Jake. They would know better than anyone if they expect his back to get to 100% again.

This would make another title an actual possibility, but we're on the clock as well. 3 shots at it, with each one likely to have a lesser and lesser version of Kawhi as we go.

I dunno if we can make the salary work but i'd love to sneak Brook Lopez into the deal for us.

Also im betting this gets done tomorrow. If LAC makes this deal they can be players in Free Agency with some of the money they save rescinding some guys
 
And yeah, you dont stop here, you surrender a 1st to get out from Poetl for a better rim protector if you dont trust his health.

Still wouldnt mind a bench that can shoot, but we'll be an attraction now for a vet ring chasing. Maybe Beal?

Don't love the idea of Beal returning from hip surgery. He was already declining before that.

Would rather swing a Norm sign and trade than go Beal. Hardaway Jr had been mentioned as a potential free agency target for us as well, he would do. I've always been a Luke Kennard guy as well. I think we're a defence who can make up for his limitations on that side of the ball.

Wouldn't mind finding out if we can teach Bryce Sensabaugh how to play defence as well if we're taking a swing on a young guy as a bench shooter/scorer. They haven't been in a rush to extend him.
