OT: World Politics

I haven’t spent any significant time delving into the Epstein stuff, so you’ll need to tell me if there’s something damning that shows Dershowitz did such things.
AI Overview

In his May 7, 1997, Los Angeles Times op-ed, titled "Statutory Rape Is an Outdated Concept," Alan Dershowitz argued that the laws criminalizing sex with underage girls should be re-evaluated. He suggested the age of consent was too high and that "reasonable people can disagree over whether it should be as low as 14," while also stating it "certainly should not be as high as 17 or 16".
  • Central argument: The op-ed challenged the legal concept of statutory rape and questioned the existing age of consent laws.
  • Stated belief: Dershowitz expressed the view that the age of consent was excessively high.
  • Specifics: He proposed that a lower age, possibly 14, could be a point of reasonable disagreement, stating that the age "certainly should not be as high as 17 or 16".

I think it's you who has completely lost any and all objectivity. My last post was a slam dunk, and you come back with this nonsense? 65% of the population is under 30, so of course that means we should comdemn all the 13, 14, 15 years old etc. Why, in 2007, were they saying "is there any food to eat today?" when they should have been down at the local Hamas office demanding to rewrote international peace treaties?

This is madness, LOF. Please stop and think about your argument here. It's gone completely off the rails.
He is unfortunately too far gone and cannot be saved. You have the patience of an angel though.

It seems like it’s only an accusation, but obviously if he did it, it’s a sick and terrible thing.

But it doesn’t have any bearing on an opinion on the Israel situation, which can be true regardless of whatever the case may be with those personal accusations, right?

Nick Fuentes makes a lot of solid points about health despite being a shit person! That's ok too right? Or does it only apply when you agree with the opinion?

Like I said, you’ve lost your mind.

His point was simply that they’ve rejected their own state many times through history. I don’t know what you think you’re proving by talking about teenagers there today.

Nov 13 (Reuters) - European financial stability officials are debating whether to create an alternative to Federal Reserve funding backstops by pooling dollars held by non-U.S. central banks in a bid to reduce their reliance on the U.S. under the Trump administration, five officials familiar with the matter said.
The talks, reported here for the first time, are a reaction to policies under U.S. President Donald Trump that have upended long-standing ties, put the Fed's independence in doubt and underlined the dominant role the U.S. plays in global finance.

And there it is!

The old "I've been swamped at work and haven't had time to do a deep dive into the subject matter yet" deflection.

And why not? I mean, it worked for Mike Johnson, right?

You don't need to "delve", dumbass. Let me splain it for you:

DERSHOWITZ IS A FUCKING PEDO!! HE LITERALLY FUCKS CHILDREN!!

Fuentes has countless terrible opinions and presumably some valid ones on health if you say so (I have no idea).

That’s different than saying this guy has been accused of committing an ugly crime in his personal life, so any opinion on a political subject is by default trash.

Fuentes has said awful words but I don't think that puts him in the category of a pedophile rapist. You've gone insane.

So a guy who we absolutely know is a monster and literally says that rape is cool, blacks are subhuman, and Jews should all be killed is actually better than a guy who has been accused of something that I assume he denies and has not been charged or convicted of anything?

Purely an observation, based on the fact that some girls "look older", and obviously not based on any personal proclivities whatsoever. An intellectual thought experiment, if you will. He's just asking questions!

Not really a competition between the two. But your reaction to this has made my point that I wanted to be made. Thank you

I dunno Fuentes is pretty abhorrent. We don’t have to downplay that.

Defending the “I kept my underwear on during massages at Epstein’s!” guy is wild though.

Yeah, sorry, in my world, I’ve seen many, many accusations against prominent people that ended up being completely bogus. I’m not saying that’s the case here, and I’d lean towards believing more likely than not that it might be true here because of the circumstances, but it has been the false in countless other instances.

In any event, it has nothing to do with what a renowned legal scholar is saying about the Israel situation.

He misunderstood my point really, but it proved it brilliantly. I've never seen such an intelligent person be so far gone. Frightening
