I wasn’t looking carefully, but I don’t recall seeing any shawarma places in Italy. Was there for three weeks. Maybe the Berlin Doner Kebab chain?

Of course, we were expressly looking for classic eye-tie.

I'm sure they've been as proactive as possible on that front. Hungary was unique though. A captured, illiberal regime that could be a reliable partner for years. Slovakia can't be that without Fico taking way more power than he has now. France will never tolerate that even if Le Pen managed to snatch the throne at some point. Meloni is probably as far right as Italy will elect in Putins lifetime and she's never been down for his project.

I think his attempts to destabilize the EU from the inside are cooked. But I think his response is going to be more Baltic Sabre rattling and more incursions in Estonia.
