Putin can’t make a deal. He’s stuck.

The cost benefit, especially when compared to grandiose expectations, of this special military operation had been catastrophic.

He can't make a deal that will end the war and Zelensky won't. This ends with the collapse of Putin's Russian state or the political capitulation of the European project. Putin's entire Ukrainian project relied on Europe picking business ties with the Kremlin over Ukranian freedom.

Why do people keep acting surprised? Putin cannot make peace. His position within Russia crumbles with any outcome other than Ukrainian capitulation. Hes already gone all in. He went all in years ago.
