Its moronic stuff from like this from western leaders that provides Hamas leverage to refuse a ceasefire. If you want an end to this there has to be pressure on Hamas. America (and the Middle East) seems to be the only one to understand this.

I mean, I think it’s legit to criticize Israel over aid. But if all you do is criticize Israel, and completely ignore Hamas, I don’t know what you will tangibly accomplish. But this wilful blindness to Hamas has been going on for decades and is what led to the situation we’re in now…
 
the 'starving' kid on the cover of NYT apparently actually has cerebral palsy and hypoxemia, among other medical conditions. there's a photo of the kid with a sibling and parent, neither of whom appear to be starving.

to be clear, I'm not suggesting there is no starvation in Gaza. there have been a whole bunch of starvation/malnutrition deaths recorded recently (for the first time in the conflict at this level).

but people have been screaming about starvation in Gaza since October 2023. a bit like the boy who cried wolf.

having said all that, everyone should work get as much food into Gaza as possible as it really does seem like the humanitarian situation now is as bad as it has been at any point since the conflict started :(
