China really doesn't import much of fuck all that they don't desperately need for their industries to keep running other than luxury brand items, so the levers they have to pull here are limited.
 
This is a weird development. This might be the UAE being forced by Trump to pick a side if the US extends that swap line of credit and the UAE opting to take the American side.

Also might be the UAE buying in on long term American security guarantees but again being forced to pick a side.

Though I guess it could be as simple as them not wanting to abide by production caps as well though that will probably turn out to be a long term mistake.
