OT: WWE/MMA/Boxing Thread

To quote Brendan Schaub:

"Juiced to the gills"

Still going to be fun though.
For sure but he's a large man to begin with.

XXXL gloves wouldn't fit him a few days ago so they had to customize them for him. The man has post pounders for hands

Aldo looked dangerous as hell, and that was a fairly entertaining fight....but yeah, watching DC lay on top of Spider for 3 rounds and almost get put out near the end of the 3rd when they were on their feet was meh. Brock vs Hunt wasn't particularly entertaining either but Brock was dominant enough that a fight against a better fighter (Overeem rematch?) becomes a legit possibility hopefully.

Survivor Series tickets went on sale last night for those interested in going; being held in Toronto this year

You and me both brother. Huge Tate fan for many reasons.

I've seen her on Rogan's podcast and she's generally a complete sweetheart as well. Was glad to see her win the title against HH....tough to see her lose it in her first defence.

I don't know...other than watching Rousey get head kicked into next week, I don't have much use for chick fights.

Sure there were a few times that I could envision hitting it doggystyle, but for the most part these are pretty unattractive females.

Call me old fashioned.

Lesnar flagged for potential doping violation. Does this mean they can overturn the result of Wrestlemania 30 against Undertaker? :D

so why was lesner allowed to fight but jones wasn't?

Jones positive test was from a sample taken June 17, and they had the results before the fight. it was very last minute, with the fight cancelled on the Wednesday before the show.

Lesnar's tests were from June 26th, and the fight day itself. The results were not back before the fight. We got the June 26th result last week, and the fight day result on Monday.

Jon Jones Case

Some interesting notes on the tainted supplement claims from Jones which could bode well for a Lesnar defense if found to be true

As soon as the word clomid pops up its automatically associated with a PCT (post cycle therapy) to help block the production of estrogen produced after a steroid cycle (which produces higher than normal levels of testosterone) however as noted below using an over the counter estrogen blocker to mimic the effects of TRT for example is legal according to the USADA as long as they dont contain clomid or letrozole or any other banned estrogen blocker.

Ignorance is no excuse as these guys have the financial capability to send any otc supplement to a lab for rigorous testing however the initial blow back for this may not be warranted as the advantages would be no where close to what one would get from a true PED

If Jones does go with a tainted supplement defense, he could have a case.

Oliver Catlin, the president and founder of the supplement-certifying company Banned Substances Control Group, said the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has done very little testing on over-the-counter estrogen blocker supplements and very few of those products are certified. However, Catlin said, the supplement industry is rampant with contaminated products, either accidentally or intentionally. The anti-estrogen category is likely no different.

"There hasn't been a demonstration in the industry experience that Letrozol and clomiphene can show up as a contaminating substances," Catlin said. "From my experience, I believe that there very much is a significant possibility for anti-estrogen supplements to be contaminated with [banned] pharmaceutical anti-estrogens."

And the chance is even greater if Jones went to a place like GNC and picked up a supposed natural estrogen blocker, Catlin said. It's relatively common, he said, for products like that to be spiked with a banned substance that makes the supplement more effective.

"Really, you don't know that the supplement you're using or not is tested and that's the very point," he said. "Knowing there is a risk of anything, any supplement that is in a category that is banned in sport runs a potential risk of being contaminated with a pharmaceutical drug that's not on the label showing up in that product to make it work better. And that's across the board of categories — whether it's a natural testosterone booster, an aromatase inhibitor."
