Just using your words. If he is determined to be UFA then what team will give us anything of value?
Another team would have two seasons to convince him and teams like the Flyers pay.

Trading in conference no chanceAnother team would have two seasons to convince him and teams like the Flyers pay.

Or when deep down you are still pissed off a bridge contract was rammed up your ass.
I'm starting to become a tad cynical of PK's intenions of late. The whole charity thing leading right up to the arb hearing and such. The unavowed love for the CH and the whole team first schtick. Is their a PR firm behind all of this? I don't firmly believe these things as of yet but just contemplating and questioning things a bit.
I think Habsy is wrong here. MB understands that markets change over time, one would assume. There's something more going on here that we don't really know about, me thinks.
what shit for brains doesnt realize is we arent the Rangers, Yankees, or any other big team that attracts free agents regardless of how much money you throw at him .
We finally have a legit star wanting to stay and thrives in this city unlike most who fold like a suitcase under pressure and AHOLE goes to arbitration , there is no one like him in this league and we fk it up .
How the hell does dickhead think PK is going to accept around the 7 mil mark when you just gave a soon to be 36 year old in decline and has no future with us 5.75 without blinking an eye
This is utterly pathetic folks.

U also allow the other team the right to negotiate an extension, that way, u will get a solid return.Well that's why you'd trade him as soon as you know that you can sign him long term. Every team in the league would kill to have PK for 2 years with the possibility of signing him long term.
PK is not innocent in this in the least. He's looking to cash in hard. It can be speculated that the bridge deal forced down his throat is the reason but for whatever the real reason is, he's playing serious hardball with the Habs and MB didn't expect it.
One thing though, PK strikes me as the type of character that can overlook all the negativity in the negotiating process and still sign long-term.

Yep, definitely a different tune to this article than a lot of what we've been hearing.

So? Fans agree with his assessment. Irrelevant.
MB figured low to mid 7's. PK doesn't agree so he's playing hardball.
BTW, speaking of wrong, how is that 11th hour deal doing anyway? PK sign on the courthouse steps? I should probably ask if he signed in the hotel lobby?
