Playoff GDT: Round 3, Game 5 Canes v. Habs 5/29 8:00

99 all time playoff wins in Carolina for the Hurricanes...Rod has been a part of 97 of those 99...crazy friggin stat!

100 would sure be sweet at home on a Friday night to punch a ticket to the Cup Finals.

The two wins vs the Bruins in Greensboro in 98-99 were the only two playoff wins sans Rod.

I saw this on a Wolfpack site in the Hurricanes thread about Game 4 and laughed:

If you watched the game at a bar and took a shot every time the Canadiens did, you could still drive home.
Not sure who initiated that joke, but it’s been EVERYWHERE the last few days

Finally found some info out of Montreal’s camp … no Gallagher tonight, but St Louis gave one of those non-answers about Xhekaj. If he plays, look for Carolina to get creative attacking his passing. I’ve never heard such a hue and cry to insert a player with such a significantly negative goal share over his entire career. But hey … he hits and fights, and people love a defenseman that hits and fights.

FWIW, the last time Carolina played Montreal in the regualr season, they dressed Xhekaj as a 7th defenseman. Not sure about that in the playoffs, but … St Louis is under fire either way.

Bring the plumbers… the kitchen sink is gonna be thrown at you.

Ah the old if you can beat them, beat ‘em philosophy. Not surprised

Here’s the weird stat. They’re 6-1 with Xhekaj in the lineup. Inexplicable because he plays 5 minutes a game.
Win or lose tonight, you have to be over the moon excited with the young horses in the stable...it starts with Dobes and goes on from there! The Atlantic will be a bitch for years to come, but Montreal has more than enough young talent to sit towards the top moving forward.

I would be nice to wrap this series up on home ice. Kom igen nu för fan.
Indeed. If for no other reason than to save one game’s worth of wear and tear and we’re getting close to the point where we need to get Freddie plugged in to an outlet to recharge

Batten down the hatches, they will come out hard. Pretend like it's a road game, stay patient, survive the first 10 minutes. I like our chances.
