Round 2: Habs-Lightning General Discussion Thread

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

Sweeping them plus a punch in D'Artagnan's face would be even better.

Plekanec had the chance in that scrum in the corner but alas he didn't take it. Granted, whenever D'Artagnan pushes at you he runs away right away as he knows if the opponent hits him, he will cry.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

Yeah I saw that. He was shoving Plekanec with his right arm while looking the other way (with a lineman in between of course. Can't be too careful)

you dish out injuries with vicious cheapshots, the hockey gods are going to dish them back to you.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

If the instigator rule didn't exist Karlsson's career would have been over before it had a chance to get started. That rule is the only thing that allows metros like him to exist in this league.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

I was driving home from court in Chilliwack (way out in the valley) yesterday so I turned on the SiriusXM French station which usually has Canadiens' games on. I figured it would be Martin and Dany but damn, they had some Ottawa broadcast in French. Of course, that station knows where its bread is buttered and pretty much talked non stop about the Canadiens even though it was an Ottawa crew.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

Looks like PAP will NOT draw back in tomorrow night, as per MT's comments today. Hopefully they can trade that dead-weight contract in the off-season.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

I dunno, I do enjoy a league where the best players in the world can play. The NHL is a better league with Karlsson in it.

It's not about whether Karlsson can play; it's about how he plays. In today's NHL he can pretend to be a tough guy, leave his feet when he blindsides someone in the head and he never has to pay the piper for it. In the pre-instigator days he could play but he wouldn't get away with the drugstore cowboy act. If he wanted to play tough he'd actually have to be tough and he'd be tested, early and often.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

Just wondering how people are perceiving JDR in this series.

I think the kid has a future in the NHL but at the moment he's so focused on his defense and nit making mistakes that there's very little coming from him on the offensive side of the puck.

Eller has legs and jump to his game and I think it's too bad that there doesnt seem to be much offense being generated by that line.

Re: Round 1: Habs-Sens General Discussion Thread

He looks lost so far in the playoffs but I guess he is taking notes. You've got to learn this somehow so next year he will be better off for the experience.

Personally I would sit him here and there but I guess MT feels he has no better options.

my issue is how he pushes and leans back or hides behind another player or ref. If you want to push at someone, be a man and stand there ready to get it back.
