Round 2 | Montréal vs. Boston

Isn't it funny that the winning goal last night was scored by a guy the Bruins called up from the farm team but Therrien's only option on the third defence pairing is Murray or Boullion? He won't even consider using Tinordi, Beaulieu or Pateryn.

He uses 49 instead of Prust/Moen.

Tony Marinaro
Get Pacioretty away from Chara put him w/Eller. Bournival takes 67 spot, forechecks, gets puck 2Gallagher. Bourque can finish put him w/Plek

Shows how dumb he is. Even if Max was playing with Moen and Briere, Chara would be up against him. Boston would just laugh at the Bournival - DD - Gallagher line.

If Prust was healthy enough to play he'd be in there instead of Bournival even though Bournival is probably a better option.

But when it comes to Murray and Boullion there's no "probably" about it. Any one of Tinordi, Beaulieu or Pateryn could easily step in for either of those two and there'd be no significant drop-off in ability. Tinordi was deemed good enough to play in last year's playoffs so he's not even a rookie, strictly speaking. But I don't understand why people are debating Murray vs Boullion. they're both equally worthless.

They are both terrible..but one is super terrible.

I put Tinoridi in over both of them though.

I agree, Tinordi or Beaulieu should take over that 6th spot, both are better options at this stage of Murray & Bouillon's careers. I would vote for Beaulieu as it gives the Habs more offensive skill/awareness on the backend and at 6'2" / 194 lbs also has some size.

I have been a fan of Beaulieu since the beginning.....I think that he's the most talented stickhandling dmen behind PK, and his skating is so smooth and effortless that with 2 strides he's already at the other blue line.

I dream of seing a PP of Subban-Beaulieu for the next 10+ years.

But the series are tied 2-2....logic would dictate that Tinordi will have priority since he'd be replacing a stay-at-home dmen in the rotation.

Beaulieu is not as ready as Tinordi for shutdown assignments, and he probably never will be, but that,s ok, because you take the good with the bad.

Therrien's system cannot afford 2 rookies at such an important position, unless these 2 rookies have Doughty or Subban-like talent

I agree that Beaulieu has way more offensive potential than Tinordi will ever have but at this stage of their development you give the nod to the one who's better playing behind his own blue line and that's definitely Tinordi. Tinordi also got some playoff experience last year so he's more of a known quantity than Beaulieu or Pateryn for that matter.

I think a Weaver-Tinordi pairing couldn't make out any worse than Weaver-Boullion or Weaver-Murray.

Beaulieu has played 23 NHL games with the Habs and has 4 assists and is a +11 with 8 PIM

Tinordi has played 30 NHL games with the Habs and has 4 assists and is a +3 with 42 PIM

Either is more able to take over from Murray/Bou as the 6th D-man.

It was absolutely hilarious last night watching the likes of the TSN Panel, Hockeycentral, TSN That's Hockey and NBC as they described how Boston won the game as if the score was 5-0 and not 0-0 into OT where a scramble goal went in. I mean Boston could have been on the verge of elimination in this game had the Habs held on in game 2 and the mighty Bruins are so good in a must win game that they get us to OT and squeak one in. Ha ha... please.

Are the Habs Goliath and the Bruins David now? I don't know of one hockey pundit who picked the Habs to win the series and I saw many even suggest Montreal may not win a game. They also keep saying if the "real" Bruins show up they will kill us. WTF? So the real Bruins were around in the last round against Detroit but they haven't arrived here yet after 4 games? It's not like maybe Montreal has got to them a little, is it?

So they win a game 1-0 in OT and it is being sold like a "we told you so" moment. Huh, so sure you were the Bruins would win the game that you deduce that they just played with us for 60 minutes for fun so they could finish it off in OT on a shitty goal like that? Can I get a job on TV as a pundit because obviously there is no experience required?

The flip - flopping is a bit annoying. For example...Julien had a "brilliant game plan last night", and before last nights game "the Bruins have no answer for Subban" etc etc... Well there was nothing genius about the Bruins victory last night, and Subban looked rather ordinary last night... Game -to -game hype is part of the sports journalism business. One night the Habs own the Bruins and are going to win the series, the next night the Bruins are back in control. But honestly, does anyone really know what way this series is going?
