Round 2 | Montréal vs. Boston

Re: Now the real playoffs begin

The real playoffs began over a week ago, and we are playing well.

let's not take anything away from this team. They have been great and have passed most expectations of those on this board.

i believe we have won 15 of last 19 games

Re: Now the real playoffs begin

Against a bigger, dirtier team like the Bruins you can be sure Therrien will insert Moen and Murray.

big benefits of easily beating the bolts

1) didnt have to do much defensively
2) didnt take a physical punishment or have any injuries
3) got confidence
4) did not take a mental toll

lets hope the wings/bruins play a series that is much more demanding than ours

Re: Now the real playoffs begin

You don't think their words will be quoted in Tampa? Really?

That and CBC hates the Habs so they have to pump the opposing team's tires.

yes the CBC hates the habs...I think that is the real reason

found it funny that CBC wasn't crying that the sharks got a late PP in a tie game yesterday...weird

It really wasn't a grueling series at all...the least physical series by far...especially if you look at what's going on in the West those are some nasty series all the way through

Re: The Second Round Thread

I'm confused. Is this the 2nd round or have the playoffs yet to start?

BTW, every fan in every Canadian city is convinced the CBC hates their team. It's ridiculous. It's not their job to say things like "that other team might as well pack it in, it's better to switch channels because this game is over"

Re: The Second Round Thread

Habs have to really prepare themselves for a battering with only a tenth of the infractions being called. The Bruins get away with bloody murder in the playoffs.

Re: The Second Round Thread

The long wait will definitely help Markov out. He was stellar in the first round and now can rest up for the second round.

literally

they already got away with attempted murder in the regular reason (chara)

Re: Now the real playoffs begin

Games finished 5-4, 4-1, 3-2, 4-3

I'd say it was close...we couldn't put them away in games, so we had to grind it out until the final seconds of the games (except game 2).

Bruins won't allow us to sit back.....they will punish us if we do in the 3rd period

I would agree with you.We dominated large portions of games, but did not finish particularly well, given that domination and the looseness of the Tampa Bay defence. It nearly cost us last night, and is somewhat worrisome given what is ahead. Vanek, as well, needs to stop playing it quite so cute. Their play and control exceeded the scores.

Re: The Second Round Thread

Vanek is a long-time Bruins killer so I'm not too worried about him. Price, on the other hand, I'm a little worried about because he still has a lot to prove as a playoff goalie- the Olympics are NOT the Stanley Cup playoffs.

At least we've learned recently to score 5 on 5.

Exactly, the defense corp will be benefit most...MT rolled 4 lines consistently through the series so they should require it as much as the D

as that latvian goalie proved

Re: The Second Round Thread

You guys said it all .. I guess MT will sit Bouillon and Bournival for Murray and Moen . probably not in game one . we need our first line play better against a team like Boston and Eller line needs be as solid as they were in first round . Also we need price to be better , He can't allow 3+ goals and hope to win a game vs Boston . that is my only concern ..

Re: The Second Round Thread

They better get Ginette Reno to continue singing the anthem.
