Round 2 | Montréal vs. Boston

It all depends where his hotel is, you might be sending him on a wild goose chase.

If he is downtown, then pretty easy to find a decent location, hell the Hotel Vancouver bar next to the Omega Boutique will have the games on. Of course, only in english on CBC, not on RDS :(

ok, that is at the Waterfront, there is the Fairmont Pacific Rim, the Fairmont Waterfront that might have it on, there is the brew pub right on Cordova at the entrance to Gastown, Cactus Club on Burrard and Dunsmuir likely will have it on, lots of a nice skank there too

I hope you're right about Friday night/Sunday aft -- it suits me fine.

A Friday start in Boston would work nicely for a balanced schedule for the rest of the series. The only reason I had the series starting Thursday was because I figured NBC would want the Bos/Habs series for Saturday and no way do they start the series on Saturday because the schedule gets difficult from then on based on scheduled events already at the Bell Centre... you would likely end up with back-to-back nights along with a 72hr gap somewhere between games 2 - 4.

It does come down to what NBC wants. A Pitts/Philly game would probably be more juicy for them than Bos/Habs... if Philly gets out of round 1.

The NHL tries to wrap a series in 2-weeks usually from Thurs - Wed and they prefer not to have back-to-back nights like the NYR and Philly might have with games 6 & 7 if NY doesn't close it out on Tues.

In the 4-games vs Boston with Murray on the ice; PK hasn't allowed a goal in 13 opportunities, and no goals against 5-on-5.

He serves an effective purpose, but it'll take good pre-game planning & bench management by JJ - especially for games in Boston.

some sanity.

Re: The Second Round Thread

No he didnt handle himself well in the regular season.

Playing against soft opposition he was one of the worst even strength defencemen in all of hockey.

soft opposition? talk about bs.. we are facing the bruins and Murray has been solid against them all year.

Re: The Second Round Thread

Soft opposition.... yes... he plays against the other teams worst players...worse than anynother d on our team and he gets the highest percentage of offensive zone faceoffs of any d on our team. Our coaches shelter him. The numbers show it... but youll ignore them

Douglas Murray is a legitimate candidate for worst player n the league.

Literally every player on the team is 7%-10% worse when he's on the ice.

Re: The Second Round Thread

No one plays easier opponents than Murray. No one on our defence gets more shifts against the other teams third and fourth lines than murray... and yet he still gets the most scoring chances against when he is on the ice. And we want to match him against Iginla-kreijci-lucic. Its madness
