Rumours, Innuendos and Flat out B.S.: 2021-22 Edition

So, this isn't a rumor, but just what if banter... I saw some people on Twitter (what a fucking shithole for hockey / any kind of discussion) talking about this...

Would you trade Domi for Buffalo's #8 overall pick? Straight up, one for one.

Without a moments hesitation, not sure why I the world Sabres would though.

If Kevyn Adams is dumb enough , in a heartbeat

Domi is an RFA that wont command a huge contract , Buffalo cant be this stupid

Why would Sabres do that ?

Jack Eichel probably being on the verge of demanding out if nothing is done. That would be my guess.

They would be getting a real #2 center to play behind Eichel, and the Sabres don't have the luxury of waiting anymore. They need to make Eichel happy.

Good point

Domi is a good player in his prime that they can lock long term. A pick, even a #8, had a dose of risk and you generally don't reap the benefits for 3-4 years. I could see why Buffalo would want to do that.

Now, do we trust Timmins to make the right pick with it?

I don't see Buffalo going that route. Part of the reason they blew it all up was stupid trades like O'Reilly.

I like Domi and he's a 70 point potential player but only did it once so far so for #8? I don't see them trading that pick for a Domi type guy which is why most of us would do that deal.

Pegula`s are dumber hockey people than our draft team

from EK

On Torey Krug...

There is a coach in Montreal who REALLY wants this to happen...I am told the Habs will be very in on this.

likely cost close to 7 to 7.5 mil AAV
Will be interesting to see the impact of flat cap, logic would dictate except for the Tavares types (who almost never hit the market) all others would be negatively impacted due to a shift to buyers market conditions.

I see many 2-3 year deals this summer for the better free agents

The cap is flat for a few years but the accounting number gets adjusted for the future

Whatever escrow doesnt cover needs to be made up

This could be a cap mess for 5 years , if the the revenues completely fall off the cliff

I see 3-5 teams in deep financial shit

Players like Hall who turned down Zona`s 8 years got roasted

For a RFA D-man, I like the idea of trying to sign Vince Dunn of the Blues. They will be cap strapped due to Pietrangelo.

Agreed just below first round money as compensation

Too risky to give up a first , put a little on them

Maybe we can settle on a trade we have plenty of assets

However I dont see Pietro hitting a home run deal
