The Habs rarely get a player in whom other teams also have interest. They usually get the ones that no one else is bidding on. And if the Rangers (or teams from Florida where there's no state taxes to pay) are among those other interested teams the Habs don't even need to bother making a call to the agent because they have absolutely zero chance of landing that player.

My thoughts as well - rumors are Shipachov is being packaged with Dadonov

I would try as I can to deal Petry to Wings or any other taker....I really don't like that deal w 4-years remaining.

IMO Teravainen could C the 2nd line, thus pushing Danault to the ideal #3C.

I think it's still risky committing that much money and term to a 30 year old who hasn't played one NHL game.

I can take a Radulov deal at a big number for one year and see how he does

But if this guy is looking for 5.5 mil for 4 years I would walk away....there is no certainty that this guy can succeed at the NHL game and trying to change a 30 year old is not easy.

Unless the organization wants him gone (which would be dumb), I would be completely shocked if Markov is not back.

Markov's young children just lost their mother (to cancer i think) and he brought them to Montreal in attempts to regain some normalcy in their lives. You gotta think that he will do everything in his power to not have to move his children again (or spend significant time away from them).

Yeah I don't see markov going anywhere. He will probably take a pay cut and will want a NMC.

I think he will stay as well but who knows. Maybe the sens offer him an extra year or a few extra million.

Trading for Centres is impossible.
Drafting a Centre outside the top 10 is impossible.
The Centre we drafted 3rd overall, we keep sticking him on wing.
Bergevin doesn't want to spend the money to compete with the big offers for Shipachyov.

Why does he have a job?

He's gonna do what he does best and get short term fixes.

Expect him to get Mikko Koivu or paul Stastny off the trade market

If we are going to be a goalie factory and play defensive hockey then we should build from the goalie out. Sign some KHL talent and the odd FA until we get it right in the draft.

Juulsen will be a nice top 4 one day , not a difference maker but a stable 2 way defender . I think he was voted top defensive D in the WHL .

He wanted Eric Staal last summer when apparently we only needed one more center to fill out our top three of Galchenyuk, new center and Plekanec

He'll likely end up with some 30 something center who's best days are behind him, those will be availabke
