So ... who's doing anything notable this summer?

Gypsum is just a couple miles west on 70 near the airport.
We aren't going out till November I think.

I went to Estes many years ago.

The whole area is beautiful.

It will be my first trip to Colorado and I am looking forward to it. Not sure what to expect, but I will be staying and visiting my brother and his family. They just love it and all the outdoor activities.

Bring a camera with a wide angle and telephoto or a telephoto with a good range say from 18-300.
Drink plenty of water.

Bugling elk are kind of cool. If you have an opportunity, hike the Black Canyon of the Gunisson River. Well worth the ass whooping of a hike it is. I recommend the north rim.

The Sand Dunes National Monument is also pretty cool.

My GF recommends hanging rock near Glenwood Springs.
Also, some of the lifts at Vail and Beaver are running and can take you to some awesome hiking trails.
