STM Packages

So this whole paperless thing is ridiculous. All 4 of us get up and go different ways during intermission, which means I have to send everyone a screenshot of a ticket. I could send a screenshot to anyone in the upper level to allow them into the BB zone.

I don't mind using digital tickets but asking me to send everyone in my family a copy of a ticket and making it simple to circumvent lower level restrictions has me longing for at least the paper ticket receipts printed at the door again

Same with no receipts for parking. They didn't come around to scan parking passes until well after people arrived for tailgates. No receipts/passes on dashboards means they have no idea who actually paid.

Supposedly, there is technology to prevent screenshots from being scanned at the door. But as you point out, there is nothing to prevent them from being used to get into the Deck or either priority lounge.

They simply haven't thought this process through. It's not like a concert but the security people seem to think it's a static event. Whatever ... I just hope some decent procedural changes happen over the course of the season to tighten this process up.

felt bad for the ushers at the entrances to certain sections last night who had to continually bend over, hold your phone (yuck), to try to see where if you were in that section.

Its one thing to require you to use your phone so someone can scan a QR code to get in the door. But requiring you to show your phone now EVERY SINGLE TIME you get up out of our seat and, you know, go the bathroom, or go spend money? Some people's phones don't hold a charge all that well. By the time they are done web surfing and texting instead of watching the game, their phone might be dead mid way through the 3rd period. Then what do they do?

We made it work, but we all were very annoyed about it. Its not going to become less annoying.

It's much easier to hold a paper ticket in a couple fingers when you're also holding food, drink, etc.. on the way back to your seat, or like I did, wear a lanyard with my ticket. At the West priority lounge entrance last night I was carrying a full beer, an awkward food tray, and I'm supposed to also have my phone out, unlock it, go back to the Google Pay app or whatever, and hold it so the 75 year old guy at the door can see it? I shrugged my shoulders connected to my full hands and told the guy - "you can hold my food while I dig my phone out or you can trust me, I've been in there (points into West priority lounge with my beer hand, almost spilling some) for 20 years." He waved me through. Dumb process, I agree with y'all.

Maybe they can give ticket takers new age rubber stamps, like the old date stamp. And they can stamp our forheads of where our seats are.

I use the iPhone version of the Google Chrome browser. The best part is that it syncs with Chrome on all of my other devices.

That said, why don't you just use the NHL iPhone app for managing your tickets?
for most tasks I do. the problem is that when you use the app to exchange tickets for another game it won't let you open up the section and choose a seat due to the flash issue. at least in my hands. haha. lots of good suggestions here, thanks.

Same here.

I anticipate it will be a clusterf$#& for a while. Lots of agitated people trying to get into premier parking last night. 6 cars were in a holding pattern waiting for a supervisor to show up to address the concerns. I also struggled with WiFi connectivity in the arena— lower bowl. I then switched to using cell data and that only worked intermittently. I can’t imagine what it would be like if I had to produce my Qcode each and every time I walked out on a concourse.

This is our first year downstairs since 03-04. The cell service is execrable. That’s why I put my ticket in my wallet, so it’s not dependent on cell service.

That’s my SOP for everything—Canes tix, concert tix, airline boarding passes, etc.—because it’s easier to access and you never have to worry about cell or Wi-Fi service.

I’m trying to bring my wife into the electronic age. Because we have to show our tickets to get into our section, I transfer her ticket to her and she puts it in her wallet. I still haven’t convinced her to forego a paper boarding pass, but baby steps.

On the subject of STM perks ... remember to go pick up your gift bag and other crap AFTER any game in October if you haven't already done so.

Let's be honest ... I'm reminding myself here and figured I'd throw it out as a PDA if anybody else has a memory like mine.

I picked mine up the first weekend. I’m still getting email reminders to get my duffle. I guess they marked off my clear bag but not the duffle?

... and if you care, make sure you get a duffel with the Canes logo thingy actually on it. When I was at the arena picking up mine whenever they announced it in preseason, they had given away at least half a box of the things that didn't even have the souvenir logo before they or someone they were giving them to realized it. No idea whether other boxes were affected.
