It's simple at it's core. For basic shit that doesn't need to be 100% accurate 100% of the time, LLM's are excellent. Wife and I are building a rough itinerary for a 15 day trip over Christmas? Chatgpt saves me hours of going through random trip advisor posts, news articles, etc etc and anything super important in there I can fact check it's work and still save bundles of time.

If you need accuracy though and have to fact check everything it tells you, it's just not a time saver. That's the biggest bear case against LLM AI. The productivity gains are illusory for any real commercial use worth paying a significant amount of money for and the best uses for it are shit that people aren't going to pay money for. When the VC and corporate investment money runs out and these companies have to make money to pay for the GPU's that spin up every time Mbow wants to see pictures of the his favourite FI posters, consumers just aren't going to be willing to pay the cost.

Don’t they have the ability to investigate this sort of bullshit? Isn’t it fairly easy to prove illegal intent?

There is no SEC type body for crypto. So no.

Crypto bros saw that as a feature and not a bug until recently with the rug pulls, obvious insider trading, etc. But this is what the unregulated market they all wanted looks like in practice.

It’s unregulated by design?

yes that's what crypto is - a so-called "currency" free of evil "government control".

that's the whole point.
