yes, but

a) why pretend that it is convincingly human?
b) why bother with the human voice tech when you can just do this by text or tell your phone to book it for you?

isn't that what a lot of people want though? like the technophobes and the olds
 
not all of course, but there are a significant number of seniors who didn't grow up with computers and don't use them, don't understand or have no interest in texting or chatbots, etc.
 
I'm not quite an outlyer - hung out with a lotta nerds, arithmetic pretty good (but eyes glaze over in applied mathematics 🙄🙄🙄). Like "likes" like, I guess. Realize a lot of olds are tech illiterate, but most of the olds I know kick solid tech ass. Odd breeds, likely. Notice some of the youngs seem to get lost in the shuffle - not all of 'em, obviously, but comms are a little garbled sometimes, possibly due to some tech proficiencies involving shortcuts. But then I don't get out much anymore, so I probably need to catch up a bit. 😊
