The Hugging Face story wont’t die. It’s scary that these models don’t know what’s happening on their own platforms. What else don’t they know about?

I mean i love that they have no control over it.

They think they will become ultimately powerful and wealthy but there's no reason to think AI can be controlled by anyone.

I already find the idea of "models" pretty funny - all the models are already training on each other and becoming one anyways.

I've clowned the whole "AI will kill us all" PR based mewling from the industry and all, but that's legitimately terrifying. Not because that's SkyNet and it actually understands what it's doing but that it has the capacity to one day in the future fuck up the entire world despite not understanding what it's doing.

Basically a digital zombie apocalypse instead of a malevolent AGI that decides we have to go.

Seems like a worse version of TV and a worse version of being there, so what's the point.

Nothing beats being there but this allows you to direct the tv feed. I see a lot of value in that — especially in hockey and football where i can focus on the players I want to see whenever i want (is the WR getting open? is the forward backchecking?)

Baseball not so much because everyone is a statue 99% of the time

Exactly.

Yeah i'm not afraid of an actual genius conscious AGI but there's definite potential for an uncontrollable entity fucking up anything and everything.

Weird take, potato guy

Toronto has had a bunch or automated pizza machines for 8 years. I never tried it. They were a bust and I think they’re down to one location

I have so been wanting to try one of those, wonder exactly why the bust?

I mean obviously it didn't make money duh but why? Could they not charge enough or did they find people not willing to try it?
Was it technically more challenging than they thought?

There's one on Base Borden turns out, now it used to be pretty easy to get in there I have no idea if it still is, but I might just find out.
