In retrospect I'm a dummy for picking PIT to come out of the East. Oops. Got hoodwinked by the hot streak at the end there. It was always going to be a close series and if NYI wins its not an upset.

One legit horrible team made the playoffs - St.Louis. They only made it in because ARZ LA ANA SJS are always horrible too. They got whipped as expected.

WPG is also pretty bad but the difference is a) they have the best goalie in the world and b) the Oilers were also a below average playoffs team coming in. That still doesn't explain a SWEEP but the upset was not a huge one.

The biggest boner in the first round is Florida likely sabotaging themselves with moronic goalie decisions based on contract and "experience" and "starting goalie" label. Absolutely moronic and probably ruined their chances of beating a damn good team fairly and squarely. FLA was better than TB in the regular season and even with the return of kucherov have outplayed the Bolts in this series. They still have time to pull it out but TB knows how to close.


The Habs are not an awful team, though they're not very good either. The Leafs are making them look awful so far, though. Knock on wood fingers crossed don't let the leafs curse rise again but the Leafs are doing it right so far.

You should have known better just from the simple fact that Phil Kessel isn’t on the Pens anymore.

Like Gretzky without Messier, Sid & Geno can’t win without Phil.

Even the FaceTime thing on its own is pretty encouraging.

When I was dealing with post-concussion syndrome a couple of years back, I couldn’t look at any screen (whether a phone or a TV/computer screen) or be around bright lights for over a week afterwards without getting some very unpleasant symptoms very quickly.

Yeah but you need to be big and gritty to be a good playoff player.
 
If we get going as a team, and if things come together as they sometimes do for a team in the playoffs, it doesn’t matter who we play later, no one can stop us.

Given the hype over winning a first round the past few years from other fans, should I get drunk and scream if Leafs win game 5? This is a massive accomplishment as I;ve been told.
