I don't see how the habs don't bag this on Monday. they've got all the momentum, and now they know Marner and Matthews can't handle the heat in the playoff kitchen.

plus Price.

if I were them I'd be on cloud 9 right now.

Habs seem looser for obvious reasons.

All of it means nothing. Leafs are still the favorites.
 
A win is a win.

but they aren’t winning shit if Matthews and Marner are too soft mentally to even be able to try in a big game.
 
I mean yeah it would be a win but it would be hard to be confident moving forward. Especially if they scrape out a 2-1 win with Zach bogosian getting the game winner, Matthews and marner shut out and the PP continuing to be trash.

Nobody was gonna be celebrating winning this first round no matter the circumstances.

Perfectly reasonable to not have much confidence in this team right now. Feel free to buy the dip but the sample size is increasing each and every game.

For me a series win at this point is going to do nothing for me but breathe a sigh of relief. After that... Don't have much confidence. Too many elements of a successful team just aren't there. No pp, mediocre goaltending, stars producing like second liners, etc. I'm the presto luck guy but when the sample size becomes statistically meaningful, that ain't it.

If I'm a LeafFan, I'd be "are you fucking kidding me with this shit" but I would also be 'We've got Auston fucking Matthews and other great stuff"

Plenty of teams have gone on to win the Cup after badly stumbling out of round 1. That scenario is still on the table.

Might seem improbable right now but the line between what's reasonable and unreasonable changes on a dime in pro sports.
