The Official 2026 Off-Season Thread: Revenge of the Nerds

actually pretty interesting ranking from this source which i believe is one of the more respected ones.

1. McKenna
2. Malhotra
3. Stenberg
4. Carels
5. Reid
6. Bjorck
7. Smits
8. Verhoff
9. Rudolph
10. Belchetz

I’m still highly suspicious that Malhotra’s being overrated, both because he’s a center and because he’s the son of a beloved leaderbean.

Thankfully it’s irrelevant to the Leafs.

unfortunately D Bleyl seems to be rocketing up the rankings lately so doubt he drops to us in the 2nd round.

To be fair...I don't hate him at 2nd. I don't think there is a "wrong" way to order 2-5 in this draft.

McKenna is on a tier all his own. If he didn't have a small wobble in the 1st half he would be considered somewhere between can't miss franchise level prospect and generational.

If Chayka hasn’t personally visited with any of the other kids, that speaks volumes. It would mean he’s just doing his basic due diligence to make sure McKenna isn’t some toxic sociopath.

The GM isn't going to the fucking Yukon if he's not convinced that he wants the player on his team. You do that kind of visit to try to figure out if there are any massive red flags in the person before you make the jump.

That trip, when you count travel from door to door is basically an entire business day each way.

Dat’s what I’m sayin.

Not sure about that. One game (8 points) is doing the heavy lifting for his second half.

I'm sure your nerd(s) will have a better sense.
