Also one of the main drivers of the “Berube might be coming back” and “Auston might not play for the Leafs this coming season” rumours. And I don’t think he’s broken a single one of the moves the Leafs have actually made. Even Dreger at least broke the Ersson trade.

Hasn’t been a great summer for CJ so far.
 
I don’t think Frank’s been great either.

Friedman is pretty good but I still find when it’s legit he says so decisively and then there’s a whole bunch of “I wonder” and “this makes sense” that seem better to ignore.

But like I do think they’re getting the bob stuff somewhere I just think it’s probably his agent. Same for the Gudas stuff earlier.
 
They're all liars. Friedman is the only one who actually cares about his credibility so he only openly speculates and gives opinions, or he reports something that is about to break to the press within 5 minutes after.
 
Maccelli gone is music to my ears even if it's for nothing in return.

Kinda surprised by Stecher but he's perfectly fine as the #7. Just closer to $1M please.

Myers to the trash heap or will someone actually give us something for him, other than a wedgie?
 
As an aside - we traded a 3rd for macelli

We had a bunch of thirds this year and netted a handful of kids who look like legit prospects. Most won’t make it but just demonstrates the stupidity we had up top, setting picks on fire.

Meanwhile, macelli exceeded expectations last year, doubling his scoring totals from the prior year and still wasn’t worth a 4m QO in a market where 5 g 15 point guys are getting 3m per.

Tre sucked so hard.
 
I don't love losing Maccelli for nothing but I imagine they tried to trade him and extend him at a more reasonable rate. But if the player isn't interested then I guess you're left with no choice.

The Stecher thing is weird for sure, probably mostly a culture/gudpro kind of thing. But he's a better plug than Phil Myers so whatever.

He can skate, he can make a pass, he's pretty feisty and hustles every shift. I'm sure the other players appreciated him in comparison to slugs like Carlo and Myers and told them they'd like him back. Otherwise, he has no relationship or history with Chaykes or Mats that they'd lean to bring him back.
 
If I were to guess re: Stecher. He loves it here in Toronto, can sit games on end in the pressbox and is a PMD. Plus, his contract is buriable.
