There does seem to be some smoke with AM and if it’s legit eff that guy.

Like if the dude is seriously making overtures about leaving then he’s a fuggin chump. You’re the captain of the team.

The one thing I'd caution is for anyone to take our media particularly seriously. They might not make up shit out of whole cloth, but they habitually making the ugliest something out of innocuous nothing they can. They live for this shit.

People say where there's smoke there's fire, but smoke machines are a thing and I'd argue that our media is in fact a fucking smoke machine.

I agree the media here runs train on BS, but this has come from a few angles now.

Where I sit - if Auston doesn’t want to be here then move on

Don’t risk bringing McKenna into a toxic situation.

Has it though? CJ is the guy who started it, and everyone else just seems to repeat in their own words whenever CJ makes a claim. Fwiw, Pagnotta said that his spoke to Matthews people after the lottery and Matthews was "excited". Is Pagnotta any worse a source than CJ? Well, they're claiming completely opposite shit. Also Chayka's comment when he directly addressed the question was "That's not my understanding" which is a polite way of calling the other person wrong and/or full of shit.

Oh absolutely. It Auston is out, now is the time to move him. 2 years left on his deal, just get a list of teams from him that he'll wave for and go to work. I just don't buy CJ's smoke that this is anywhere nearly as close to Auston wanting out as he's suggesting. I absolutely buy that Auston and his people aren't happy about how this season went and want reassurance on the direction of the org and the plan on how to get there though.
 
Suspect its heavily tied to Berube. No coincidence that his worst statistical year since joining the league being tied to a horrible system of hockey that is the complete opposite of the style he succeeds at is making him put pressure on management to make a change
