The official NFL thread

That game restored my faith in football. Still not sure what that earlier game was supposed to be.

I starred following the NFL again last year but had not for several years.

Can someone explain the bills interception call?

To me it looking like the bills player had possession of the ball and was down by contact.

If it was an interception then how was it not a safety as the Broncos player was not down by contact and then ran through the back of his own endzone.

Yeah I thought that was the wrong call. Cooks rolled back into his stomach because McMillan yanked at his arms - you can see his his body propel forward from the tug as McMillan pulled the ball out of his hands. And that being the case it means he had possession of the ball with his back on the ground and the defender touching him (which is a tackle).

Re the safety - they ruled McMillan intercepted the ball and at the time of the interception he was on the ground with the offensive player touching him.

It’s not a completed pass because the receiver’s possession did not survive falling to the ground and he hadn’t established possession prior

If it was ripped out of his arms after he was down It did, though
