Instead of hiring a President, and then he's the guy to hire his staff?
 
Dregs said today he's heard they're not all that close to hiring anyone, probably no announcement next week. They've interviewed so many people (mostly agms) that it's not even worth going through each one, and the interviews don't appear to be done.

It sounds like they're just casting a really wide net right now. But they did talk to Gillis and Chayka before Tre was even fired so it does make sense they'd be high on the list.

Tldr: They're overcorrecting for shanny interviewing two people last time.
 
If you interview only 2 people the first time, you have to interview 790 people the 2nd time to make up for it. Basic rule of life.

Fucking hell, this guy's only job before this nepo hire was first as an assistant coach and then moving up to President of the Markham Royals team in the OJ.

Yes, his father owns them. So Spencer Hyman, "future NHL management type", has only ever gotten a job in hockey through nepotism.
