Trade Deadline 2026

Jonas is slacking so I turned it on to this:

Hedger: is mcmann overrated because he plays on the leafs?

Button: said a lot of words but tldr: yes

Selling assets is the easiest part of gming. Just take calls, and the highest bidder wins.. only real decision you have to make is whether you trade earlier in the year or if you think prices will go up closer to deadline. Other than that, I don't mind letting Tre handle this.

Would be a little more nervous about him being the one to trade Knies. Not that I think a winger that doesn't really drive play is untouchable, but I'd be concerned about who he targets in return. He's dumb.

Yeah and tbh, outside of secondary pieces i'd probably be insisting on him only allowed to take picks back? I dont want him coming to me with a 6 6 defender prospect he really likes.

But he, and literally any GM ever is capable of sellling off assets for picks.

Yep. And ideally, any high-value picks he adds should hopefully be 2027 or later. So as to decrease the chances that Treliving or any of his scouts will still be around when it comes time to actually use them.
