I would like to think that too, but I just can't. I just can't square the idea that they're ready to move on from Treliving with the fact that they left him in place to conduct the team's affairs at the trade deadline.

I think it's a maybe that Brooby gets fired, and that they've already decided Treliving himself gets at least one more season.

obviously they waited too long but once they realized the season was a write-off, it was actually smart to keep trying to win with Berubes (nudge, nudge) while secretly trying to tank down to bottom 5, due to his coaching being so perfectly suited to a team sucking

Rogers is showing to be a shit hockey owner. And before the jays surprised last season - many would say the same for their baseball ownership - keeping around management that had led to mediocre results.
