So you fully believe that players are discriminated against for being a Leaf... But there's no racism?
Dion Phaneuf is white. And hated.
I don't see how that helps your case.

i'm curious to see if carlyle gets a nom for the jack adams.
if he doesn't then it just goes to show what a joke the toronto -- and entire -- hockey media is.
because basically nobody predicted the leafs to make the playoffs, let alone finish comfortably in fifth and with a shot at home ice heading into the final week of the season.
Depends in how far the team goes too, no? If he coaches them deep into the playoffs would that out him above the others?

Nope. The Conn Smythe trophy is the only playoff award. For the rest, only the regular season is taken into consideration.Depends in how far the team goes too, no? If he coaches them deep into the playoffs would that out him above the others?
I never said only black people are hated.
I'm pointing out that you feel that players are disliked for reasons beyond their play... Like Dion is hated merely for being a Leaf.

That's true it's my fault for bringing it up. I apologize for that cause we did beat that to death. I'll forget about Subban. Some people might actually hate PK for being black, that's true. Just like some idiots throw bananas at black players and some idiots sucker punch Leaf fans in stairwells.
Acting like the media is only talking about PK screaming and swearing at his teammate while playing in one of the biggest media markets in hockey because he's black is just dumb though. This was my point all along. He looked like an idiot and a player screaming at his teammate would be talked about for days in any major NHL market, ESPECIALLY Montreal and Toronto. Black or white.
I don't think the MSM is just being racist, I think it's a story. You refused to discuss this any further yesterday and then bring it up in a totally unrelated topic, so that's all I have to say on the matter.
Who should he beat out for it then?
Therien? He was in the same position but won the division.
Boudreau? Also in the same position and also won his division.
MacLean? No one gave the Sens a chance without Spezza, Michalek & Karlsson (and with Anderson also missing a good portion of the year), not even the most optimistic Sens fan, but he finished one point back of the Leafs and in the playoffs.
Oates? He turned around a bad Capitals team and made them the hottest team down the stretch.
Quinneville? He just coached the best team in the league and it wasn't close. While they were expected to contend, no one thought they'd be as dominant as they were.
There are just too many good candidates in this partial season for Carlyle to get a nod.

Very few star players get credit in Toronto.
It is funny that almost everyone picked the Leafs to finish in the lottery or close to it prior to the season, which they were obviously wrong about. Yet nobody actually stops to think how they ended up top 10 in the league instead. There's gotta be pretty big reasons why.
why do their accomplishments trump carlyle's?
that's bs.
i agree. there are a lot of good candidates.
carlyle is right up there with them.
and when you consider the fact that his team was basically the only team of that group basically unanimously picked to miss the playoffs... it's pretty hard to square him not being one of the leading candidates, given that the very people who predicted the leafs' demise are the same people voting on the award.
