apparently someone (from the media) contacted the HOF and they said that none of the trophies have been engraved yet.. so yea that's not real.

yeah saw it in the news a couple days ago ... 2nd place is the first loser, so maybe i don't blame the league so much for not remembering 'the other team' that got to the finals.

But don't lie about the fact you did screw it up.

The only strange thing is that the 'T' in capitals looks like more of a 7 than a t, but that could be a smudge/glare too.

Vesa Toskala looks set to take his, uh, puckstopping abilities to the Swedish Elite League.

Multiple reports indicate Toskala, a one-time Leaf who was dealt to the Anaheim Ducks with Jason Blake for J.S. Giguere then finished the 2009-10 season with the Calgary Flames, will sign with Färjestad.

HockeyExpressen.se says Färjestad needs an experienced goalie after Robin Rahm recently tested positive for a banned substance. Rahm is facing a two-year ban from hockey, forcing the Swedish team to search high and low for a replacement.

"They hurt me a little bit just because I went to Boston and I helped to build that team back up," Savard said in an interview Friday - his first public comments since the rumours surfaced.

"I've really tried to work hard with the young guys and being a core player. I was really focused on staying there for the rest of my career. To hear all this stuff this summer bothered me inside more than anything else."

Savard expects to return to Boston. "Right now I'm a Bruin and that's the way it is," he said. "(But) it's been tough."

I imagine that it has been, then you tack on the league looking into the contract extension. He has to feel a little confused and betrayed right now.

Well, we knew a long time ago that Sweatt wouldn't be signed by the Leafs, but he's officially a UFA as of 8 minutes ago. Ditto for Tyler Ruegsegger but the Leafs seem confident they'll "find him a place" with us.

It'll be interesting to see where Sweatt ends up. I suspect that in the end, he may regret his decision to turn down Burke's offer.
