OT: Fanboy fight: XBox V Playstation

BTW, for people with PSVR, the new game Sparc is awesome. You can't play too long and you get sweaty and your VR gets foggy, but it's real good. Gives you an idea of what VR sports games can be.

not I

where did you get it from?

EB games. Reports say Nintendo will have plenty this time around and will continue shipments into 2018. Originally they said they would continue until the end of the year. Smart on their part to make more supply as that is a lot of money being left on the table if they didn't. Rumors of them also releasing more NES Classic in 2018 are floating around though i'm not sure thats been confirmed yet.

Speaking of Nintendo... holy shit what a Nintendo Direct yesterday. Mario Odyssey looks amazing.

Some of the other games coming out for Switch are also pretty interesting. Doom and Wolfenstein 2 from Bethesda is good to see as that seemed to have been a soured relationship since the WiiU. Kirby looks pretty cool. I really want that Mario Party Top 100 game to come out for the switch.

When the Mario Odyssey Switch bundle comes out... Nintendo take my money!

NHL 2018 is worth a buy in my opinion. I love the 32 expansion draft fantasy mode. Spent a good 3 hours creating my own team for an expansion draft lol

Ai is still dumb as all ****. Im going to pass until my mother in law probably buys it for me for Christmas.

A strange, addictive game is Friday the 13th. It is not worth the $ given the content. It was clearly rushed and looks at best like a PS3 game. Yet it's addictive as hell. It's fun to play a multi player hide and seek as opposed to just shooting everyone. I can't get enough and I admit it's not that good. It captures good cheesy fun. The mic works great better than any PS4 game because everyone can work together to escape.

So yesterday 3 blockbuster games came out and all got amazing reviews. I use mostly IGN as my go to for reviews. Other sites such as Kotaku, Polygon, Gamespot gave similarly glowing reviews of all 3 games.

Super Mario Odyssey got 10/10 Masterpiece. I played it last night at a buddies house and that is one damn cool game. A true successor to Mario 64. This game likely wins Game of the Year. I'm really getting the itch to just drop the 500+ on the Switch.

Assassins Creed Origins got 9/10 Amazing. This one i got to put in a few hours this morning and its pretty good. Similar concept to old AC games where you search for targets to kill. Its set in ancient Egypt so i am a huge fan of the setting. I've been waiting for this type of game since forever. Cool cool stuff if walking through the Pyramids is your thing.

Wolfenstein 2 got 9.1 Amazing. Haven't played this one but the previous Wolfenstein on PS4 along with the DLC were my favorite shooter to play this generation. Apparently this one has an even better story than the previous ones so when i beat AC i'll likely get my hands on this one.

I'm not an online guy so Destiny/Overwatch games don't really do it for me. Give me a great campaign and i am a very happy camper.

Destiny 2 is just not very good. I thought at first it was good but that lasted only a few hours.

Overwatch is still amazing.

Mario is great.

Curious about the new AC - they have been pretty bad lately.

I might see if Wolfenstein 2 goes on a good boxing day sale.

Loved Mario Odyssey. Mario Kart is as good as ever as well. Really enjoy the Switch. Need to try some non-Mario games tho.

Anyone familiar with the Nintendo Switch?

My kid's been asking for it. She already has a PS4. What's the difference besides portability?

.

Did you play the Raids?

For me, Destiny Raids have been some of the most difficult/strategic/satisfying/rewarding video game experiences ive had in 30+ years of gaming.

Getting 6 people together to topple their new Raid Lair this past week was definitely a gaming highlight of the year for me....up there with Horizon Zero Dawn & Uncharted 4, Top notch stuff. (Although as great as those two were, neither gave me the rush of exhilaration D2 did upon that first raid clear)

Playing D2 and only really doing the story is missing the heart of the game.....if games like Overwatch & the first BattleFront are primarily PvP only games......Destiny for me is built around their Raids. They just happen to also have tons of PvP, Stories, Quests, etc also tossed in to do.

If one is playing it by themselves tho, I can imagine itd die out pretty quick......getting together with buddies for a Nightfall Prestige Strike... or Trials of The Nine PvP on weekends? Or 5 friends to run a raid beginning to end tho?...that's top notch, imo.

Different games and different kind of console. The portability is cool, but the Mario titles are what sold it for me. Odyssey is awesome and Mario Kart is my favorite all time multiplayer. That's why I got the switch.

Tried the raid once (pre expansion) . But once I realized power level does not actually mean anything I lost interest.
