OT: The Toronto Blue Jays

jays have been having great at bats all day long. really running up dempster's pitch count. love seeing this approach.

Still a long way to go, though. Especially with currently 3 of the top 4 teams in the league in the division, not gonna be easy.

Although Boston seems to have started their slide, going 2-8 in their last 10. If the Jays can put up a 7-3, Yankees go 2-8, and Boston and Baltimore go 5-5, say, that at least helps close the gap. But with the Jays down 2-3 starters at the moment, that's not going to be easy.

Also a brutal schedule for the next little while. SF, NYY, TB, BALT, ATL coming up, all good teams. We don't play a team under .500 until the Padres series starts on May 31.

So keep your expectations realistic. As Jack Morris said, just try to make up one game a week.

I really hope this is the start of a turnaround and not just the fact that even a bad team has to have a winning week.

I don't get this team, all underperforming together.... the hitters either hit homeruns or strikeout... need a new approach for many at the plate.

These are teams we need to catch. Playing them now is helpful. We get to control things

We got some more bitches with injuries:

@ShiDavidi
Sergio Santos set for surgery on elbow to clean out some bone spurs ad chips. Won't end season. #BlueJays

Meanwhile, the Blue Jays’ rotation remains in flux. Brandon Morrow won’t start Wednesday, as originally anticipated.

“I prepared all week to pitch (Wednesday) and I came in today with the intention of pitching (Wednesday),” Morrow said in a brief interview. “They told me they’re going to have me go Saturday, it’s a combination of wanting to make sure I was for sure, 100 per cent.

Melky Cabrera to get MRI on legs tomorrow to make sure no major issues. He's had tightness in his hamstrings
