OT: American Politics

The GOP lost the popular vote and only has their position due to gerrymandering.

In terms of substance, it's an intellectually and morally bankrupt goatf*ck populated by derps and religious nuts. It has been years since they have contributed any meaningful solutions to a host of serious issues; the solution to pretty much every problem is more wars, more jails, and gutting the New Deal.

Their House delegation is a particularly odious collection of lunatics, inbreds, fanatics, bigots, paranoids, know-nothings, war-mongerers, and Paul Ryan - the Boy Mascot. They will go down down in history as a bunch if wild-eyed cracker radicals who can't come to terms with the fact it's not 1950 any more.

Sure. Only republicans gerrymander, not democrats, and it is the only reason why they got their big house majority. And opposing hopeychange makes them 1950s troglodytes, completely out of step with most Americans.

From 2010 to 2012, the Derps went from a 6 point win, to a one point loss in the popular vote and lost 8 seats. Teabaggery anxiety was played out.

Gerrymandering is the only reason they held onto the house.

The Derps were supposed to retake the Senate, but wound up losing ground because they're a bunch of clowns. Why? Partly because gerrymandering isn't possible. Besides, they're still vastly over-represented thanks to the empty fly-over states.

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

It is nonsensical to argue that large numbers of teachers are deciding to retire early because of the ERIP. It's preposterous. Furthermore, there aren't untold scores of young teachers being screwed by selfish older teachers who are waiting to collect their ERIP. The article is ridiculous on several levels, and it is specifically designed to inflame uninformed teacher-bashers like yourselves.

Right. The only people who matter are the enlightened, latte-sipping intellectuals who have evolved beyond the slack jawed yokels from the sticks who cling to their guns, god, and religion.

There is no compromising with people like you, and with people who try to represent you. You have a sneering condescension for your political opponents and you have no desire to reach political compromise. You want total victory over the rubes you feel are your inferiors. Hopeychange is reflective of that mindset.

Please don't put hopeychange and st.ronny in the same sentence. Reagan was infinitely better at working with the other side than hopeychange is.

Heh. Style points, that's your feeble crutch. As usual.

Obama implements a health care plan developed by the Heritage Institute, yet the Derps can't take yes for an answer. Boehnor was just left screaming "No!" over and over again on the House floor. Maybe they should ask themselves why they couldn't implement the health care plan of their own right wing think tank instead of impotently ranting like useless Derps.

They have brought this upon themsleves.

But, yeah, Obama is the problem.

There are flickers of reason and introspection in the GOP after the 2012 defeats, but I wonder if it will take. Barro, Bartlett, and Frum are notable dissenters, but that may have just earned them excommunication. Some more moderate elements of the party have been assessing some private polling numbers, and they show big problems on certain issues with younger voter cohorts. They are simply on the wrong side of these issues.

Now, they've gone waaaay down the path of crazy, so this can't be fixed overnight. They'll have some brutal discussions within the party, and we've seen the impact of the Tea Bagger purists when they want to take out an establishment Republican. The Democrats, of course, will hover and co-opt the pieces they can stomach to sure up their position with moderates. It's a tough spot for the GOP, but frankly, they only have themselves to blame. As Bobby Jindal implied, they became the Party of Stupid.

Case and point: some party operatives think they need to double down on their recent approach rather than re-examine their policies and messaging. Statistically, electoral success would be feasible. But man, it will be ugly. Very, very ugly.

Garbage. Your post in terms of substance is intellectually and morally bankrupt goatf*ck of stereotyping, bigoted, racist and paranoid political bias that makes KKK whackos talking about Jews blush.

Carry on......

(Where you expecting a moderate reply after that post?)

From your fantastic vantage point of Quebec, you know from the biased sources you read the platform of the majority moderate Reps. You know what the Tea Party represents because you were there...okay, perhaps not there, but you saw some pictures. But hey, that counts too. Every stupid statement from any individual Rep is absolute and representative of the whole.

Well then, democrats like Weiner, Pelosi, Maxine Water, Hank Johnson and company are in terms of substance, an intellectually and moralist bankrupt goatf*ck populated by half wits and eco religious nuts. It has been years since they have contributed any meaningful solutions to a host of serious issues; the solution to pretty much every problem is more borrowing, more spending and more statism.

Enjoy the vastly superior intellectual discussion....that of course represents EVERY Democrat. :rolleyes(2):

I think Weiner is a very good choice for Mayor of NYC. The guy is a good politician. I can't believe all the bullshit over a shirtless pic to some twitter sluts.

Why does it matter, and why does anyone care?
