OT: American Politics

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

Couple of my friends from Windsor are like "Well he admitted his failings and deserves a second chance." regarding Ford. I nearly fell off my chair.

They are just going off his press conference yesterday but they aren't informed.

I do not know how if you look at this saga in Toronto and read about it how you can still support him.

It isnt just the crack. Actually the crack doesnt matter.

It is the lies about it, the attemped cover up, his staff quitting/getting fired, his brother attacking the police chief, etc etc

really would like a detailed timeline

an embarassing admission of extraordinay ignorance and incompetence, for a man who is one of the major opinion writers in the US, and, for example, heavily defended George Zimmerman for doing the right thing and profiling Trayvon Martin.

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

ok. the sheik thing makes sense because the guy who tweets for him is based out of toronto.

but where does brutus the barber enter the picture???? this is amazing.

maybe this is all a wwf storyline.

It seems ignorant to people who are properly educated, but I think in this case it's more of a statement on how deplorable the schooling was wherever he grew up.

they are clearly bringing the XFL back

"I am a grown man and professional opinion writer whose entire reputation is based on being informed and intelligent., including on matters of race, and I thought Gone with the Wind was an accurate portrayal of slavery.....and I didn't realize I was wrong until I watched this new hollywood movie."

hilarious.

I don't know why you're attacking the man for being honest and transparent about the shortcomings of the American education system as it pertains to its teachings of history, especially when he openly states that the prior beliefs which were taught to him were deplorably wrong.

As axl says: you're much better off attacking the origin of those initial beliefs than the person.

Ford's next move is clearly a guest appearance as a heel on WWE RAW.

Are you actually blaming the victim rather than the source?

Just a question: how do you think the average person in North Korea views the rest of the world? Is it their fault for growing up in an indoctrinated environment?

What about citizens in a similar Western democracy to ours like in Japan. Are they at fault for not being taught of the atrocities that their country commited in WWII?

You're a buffoon if you can't understand that as children what we are taught has a major impact on our worldview and if you are being taught that racist vitriol is the norm, it might be a wee bit difficult to take into account another worldview.

Kind of like how you grew up in a world of privilege, UCC boy.

Re: OT: Canadian Politics

By the way - I'm not sure what the issue is with this second video.

He's clearly just drunk and ranting...and in his home.

I remember once I was at a bar and got into it with some guy that was hitting on my then girlfriend, I told him that I was going to 'fvcking kill him' and swore my face off. He ended up calling the cops and said I was uttering death threats. Police came to my house the next day. Cop asked me a few questions, laughed, and said that the matter is closed.

It's rhetorical nonsense.
