Habs trade PK Subban to Predators for Shea Weber

Gord Miller@GMillerTSN
Shea Weber expected to play for Montreal tonight. A central division player told me "he's the scariest player to play against. By a mile."

Weber is respected throughout the league. The only people who don't like him are butthurt Subban fanboys who won't give Weber his due until they're able to devise a fancy stat which measures an opponent's fear when going into the corners against him.

The way some people on this board whine you'd think that Bergevin traded Subban for Yannick Weber instead of Shea Weber.

"Respect" and being "scary" doesn't lead to wins the same way that shot suppression and offence created does.

I don't dislike Weber in the slightest. In fact I've always been a fan and will continue to be... even bigger now of course. Just don't think this was a good deal at all.

Dependent on strategy. If u target Tyler Johnson or Hedman for eradication (i.e cripple the player) in game 1 when the teams go head-to-head, or do the same when Pred play Habs to Subban, respect & scary may have more impact than shot suppression & offense created.

More so given the present NHL suspension hand outs, just sayin....

The city would burn to the ground if this comes true.

Nashville does have a very good dcorp

But is anyone really believing that they can go far with that group of forwards?

Ribeiro is your #2 center and Johansen still hasn't proven he can carry a team on his shoulders.

Other than that you're looking at Forsberg and Neal as go to guys....Graig Smith is a nice player but than the drop off is significant

Is Pekka really the goalie he was two years ago? His game seems to have dropped.
