2016-17 Champions League

There's almost no money in Europa League aside from ticket sales and Celtic sell out pretty much everything as it is. Absolutely nothing to be gained from that shift. We've gotten all the goody we can out of UEFA for the year, which beats the crap out of not making Groups the previous three seasons.

Do you know that the traditional colors of Wimbledon are green and purple, but the form of players should be almost completely white? The official definition in the rules of the tournament since 1963, required a "predominantly white" forms, and since 1995 — "almost entirely white". In 2014, the definition became more specific and requires that colors other than white, were limited to the rim width up to one centimeter on the collar or on the edge of the sleeves and the shorts. http://livecustomwriting.com/blog/history-of-wimbledon-and-its-champions About history of Wimbledon I found here)))

The knockout round draw is Monday, December 12.

So hope that happens :D

Thanks for your support. :wink First group win in 6 years and the fates will screw them. They can't play PSG or Man City, so they can draw Benfica, Bayern, Bayer Leverkusen, Real Madrid, Porto or Sevilla.

Arsenal finally win their group and their reward will still be Bayern Munich or Real Madrid (who need a win at home against Dortmund to win the group)

Leicester are no better off. Their chances of drawing someone stupidly better than them are very, very good.

True. But this has been a theme with Arsenal finishing 2nd in their group the last 5 years, regularly drawing Barcelona, Bayern, etc. This year, they win their group and Bayern and Real Madrid don't win theirs, so they're still on the table.

There are times when I hate to be right. The draw:

Man City v Monaco
Real Madrid v Napoli
Benfica v Borussia Dortmund
Bayern Munich v Arsenal
Porto v Juventus
Bayer Leverkusen v Atletico Madrid
PSG v Barcelona
Leicester v Sevilla

Man City and Leicester on the other hand ended up with much better draws than they could have done given the restrictions.

With the first legs in February, both Leicester and Man City have a chance to regain their form. Leicester went a long way towards that over the weekend, Man City still looked bad. Monaco are in 2nd in their league, 1 point behind Nice and Sevilla are 3rd, 1 point behind Barca but 7 behind Real Madrid.

The first legs of half of the round of 16 ties are in the books:

Benfica 1-0 Borussia Dortmund
PSG 4-0 Barcelona
Bayern Munich 5-1 Arsenal
Real Madrid 3-1 Napoli

Arsenal were level for a half. Koscielny went out in the 49th minute and all hell broke loose. If he's out for any appreciable time, Wenger's Champions League streak is toast.

Bayer Leverkusen 2-4 Atletico Madrid
Man City 5-3 Monaco
Porto 0-2 Juventus
Sevilla 2-1 Leicester

Monaco were up 3-2 after Falcao scored in the 61st minute. City scored 3 in the last 20 minutes. Leicester get the all important away goal as Schmeichel had 5 saves to keep them in the match. Porto played with 10 men for 63 minutes after Alex Telles picked up 2 cards within 90 seconds.

The rich will get richer. In a surprise move, Turner Sports and Univision signed a new deal with UEFA that will almost double US TV revenue starting in 2018. Fox Sports pays about $52 million per year through next year, Turner and Univsion combined on a $100 million per year deal from 2018 - 2021. In another surprise move, ESPN didn't bid at all, relying on a bid from BAMTech, the company spun off from MLB Advanced Media. That would have put some games on ESPN and others on a streaming service.

A. ESPN has been told by parent Disney to knock off the big money rights bids. You'll see them in the leftovers category until such time as their bottom line improves.

B. Turner? Seriously? They haven't made a splash in sports in forever.
