There is a petition running to remove the Rudolph cartoon from syndication because it’s normalizes bullying

Baby Its Cold Outside has been deemed about date rape

I’m all for PC but it seems being woke is the new fad. If you are not offended by everything then you are shunned

i would argue the line is constantly moving

i deal with it on a more personal level

if your friend has been date raped and finds the song to bring on bad memories...dont play it at your christmas party
and if you did not know and somebody informs you do not say WELL WELL WELL it seems being woke is the new fad - i am going to continue to be an *******

I see that for sure. I was always a "Words only have the power you give them" believer. It's true to for the most part as well. There are some words that I don't think that covers though. The N word is one. Any word can be used, of course. Just because there is the amendment that says you have the right to say something doesn't mean that you should, in my humble opinion.

the irony is that we all know words are way more powerful than, say, fists.

we can do much more damage with words. we can ruin lives with words. not so much with fists.

and it's these ben shapiro's who know full well the power of words that play this big game of "it's just words" to make their arguments.

i remember the Simpsons being rated 14+ - now it is G

the beatles had to hide sexual lyrics in songs
(norwegian wood for example)

the amount of violence, language, etc in movies/tv/video games is waaay up

if anything the world has moved too far one way and now it is trying to come back

interesting point.

clearly you're right - sex and violence are more prevalent than ever in our society.

the only place where "PC culture is running amok" seems to be in that pesky "treating everybody with respect" area.

History is repeating itself.

They used religion to control the masses behavior in this context. With the shift away from religion, aggression is on the rise again.

They now need to find another way to curb it.
