Agreed, you don't know what you're going to get. You could get Taijuan Walker, but you also might end up with something worse. Best not to chance it.

TBH, Walker is one of the youngest FA, only 28 and I'd easily give him 2 years. He'd be their #2 starter, like he was last year.

Walker and Musgrove are odd hills to die on. We can do better or more of the same in Paxton, Tanaka, Odorizzi. There are alot of 3s out there
 
Itd be one of the all time great surprises if they managed to pry George sprinter to Canada from low tax Texas.

How could you give 6 years to a guy who's already 31? It's now a total waste for Grichuk to play a corner OF spot, and what, does Teoscar go to the bench now that the OF is full? We just gave him a big arbitration raise, so that's going to totally waste his talents. Never mind spending 25M+ a year to a guy who hits under .270 most years.

How did I do there? Cover the basics?

Well, if they get it done, they will give him too many years and too much money and he’s not a true CF but you have to overpay to sign the top FA. I think most can understand that.
 
I wouldn’t rip them for signing springer. That’d be awesome.

I would rip them for giving Randall grischuck 10m per though. That move never made sense and makes less sense now that they’re (apparently) offering springer big $$.

The Grichuk trade was good. The extension was bad but really is a 15m$ of4 whose deal was front loaded and nearly over that big a calamity?
