OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Lotto tonight! Some interesting storylines with Houston either getting a top 4 pick or a late teens pick due to pick swaps (odds are ~ 50/50) and Minny needing to move into the top 3 to keep their pick from GS (odds are ~28% they keep the pick). Raps have 30% odds to get into top 4.

Ben is legit elite at 2 aspects of basketball. Defense, and playmaking. Not a single one of Siakam's skills even come close to either of Ben in these 2 things.

Yes, Ben cant/wont shoot and it's a challenge, but first, tons of players his age could not shoot and then did. All he needs to do to become a top 10 NBA player is develop a decent enough shot where teams must consider it a possibility.

Lastly, he's not a PG, and was always a poor fit with Embiid, here, if you keep Kyle by going over the tax, Ben becomes our playmaker from the PF spot and has more shooters ( OG, FVV, Kyle) around him than he ever did in Philly. We also potentially become elite defensively.

And even PFs need to hit jump shots.
 
On Tim and Friends right a couple of minutes ago, Marc Stein suggested that a Kyle Lowry sign and trade for Ben Simmons is a possibility, not out of the question, thing that might happen.

Raps get to keep Pascal and add a legit defender and playmaker to their forward group. Think of Simmons as a high end Holis-Jefferson.

Thats more reasonable.

We'd still be a flawed team without a #1 option, and wed be capped out forever, but we'd be the best defensive squad ever and super young and we may just be able to draft a #1 option this summer if were lucky.

Ben on the floor is a black cloud offensively , your playing 4 on 5

If sixers get that straight up , they would be nuts to say no

Maxey takes over PG , Siakam and Jo at the 4/5 with Thybulle defending at the 3

a high end HJ is not a max player , thats Ariza or Covington in their primes as your 4rth option

He is an elite playmaker and has a great game close to the bucket, what the hell are you talking about?
