OT: The Official Toronto Raptors Thread

Can someone explain to me what Jason Kidd has done to get a 3rd coaching gig? Or why the team who just hired a shoe exec to run their team thinks this is a good idea?
 
Bargnani draft felt a lot weaker at the time than what's on tap this year.
 
Getting a top 4 really is a game changer for the franchise. Sort of a consolation prize for losing Kawhi. Things really fell into place.

Way weaker, but that's why this guy is just flashing into the top 5 on some boards and not being considered for the #1

With that said, Bargnani was the clear #2 in that draft imo and was nowhere near being the best prospect available. Aldridge was an obvious impact NBA player waiting to happen.

I said so at the time, the shit was pretty obvious.

Skillswise maybe. Roy was a 21 yr old 4 year collegiate who broke out as a dead eye shooter in his senior year. We're having to project Suggs' jumper here, which I'm good with some people feeling comfortable with, the mechanics of it are there, the IQ to learn how to get himself open is there, etc. But that's the problem I'm having with him personally. All of the good comps for him were much better shooters when they left school.
 
Here's the names that might move this summer that the 4th could potentially be in play for and what I think:

Kat: I don't even know if he'll move, I think he would have to demand out for them to consider it. Probably worth as much 365 days from now as he's worth right now and a kid or two breaking out might convince him to want to stay. Something like the 4th + Pascal might get us there though, and he's worth it.

Simmons: Like him....wouldn't move the 4th for him at all. Would move Pascal for him. I've seen Lowry S&T + stuff floated out in the NBA universe for him though

Dame: Not giving up the 4th for a small guard on the wrong side of 30

Kristaps: Interested if Dallas is giving him up in a firesale. Have also seen Lowry S&T stuff floated here as well, Dallas is definitely interested in Lowry. Luka and Kristaps don't get on well.

Kat is the only scenario there I like for the 4th to be involved in.
