2021-22 Season Hurricanes Misc. Thread

Where is that happening?

Got an email blast from the club this morning.

"Celebrate our first win of the 2021-22 season with tickets to the next home game!

24 HOURS ONLY - SEASON TICKET MEMBER PRICING

Get tickets to the game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday, October 25th at Season Ticket Pricing. This special pricing will expire on Saturday, October 16th at noon."

I got that too but not sure I could make it that night so forgoing :)

Is that a STM offer only? If anyone is selling an extra pair in the lower bowl to this game let me know, I'm interested in this game for my son and I.

The October 25th game vs. Toronto is a STM appreciation game, so if you were looking to add tickets as a STM you were already going to get a discount for that game that is BELOW STM prices.

So if you are not an STM, your are going to get a good deal if you buy before noon on Oct 16th. If you find an STM to hook you up to buy extras that night you can get an even better deal through them.

By the way, as an STM, I didn';t get that email, I suspect because that might not make some STMs happy to see.

Yes, this is still a thing. I had my full 7% credit tied to my account and was using it to pay for food last night.

I want to say maybe 5? years ago they started making that Food and Beverage credit only available to folks renewing or buying new season tickets before a certain date? So I wouldn't expect it to be listed as a benefit at the moment as new purchasers wouldn't be offered that benefit at this point in time. I definitely know the percentage of the credit offered has gone down over time.

The mechanics of using your credit is the same as the discount. Scan your card for the discount and then tell the person you want to pay with your STM credit and after they hit some button you scan your card again. The paypad will ask you if you want to leave a tip and then show you your remaining STM credit balance. As already noted though, not everyone seems to be fully up to speed with the mechanics of this at the food stands yet.
Took a couple of minutes for the person checking me out to figure it out but she eventually got it done. Given all the bodies that rotate thru those concession stands, things should smooth out after a game or two.

I got it, but not until this morning. And I have the usual mild complaints about under-cutting my discount that they never want to hear. To the point where I don't bother making them anymore.

Read that email you got today again JB. That is just announcing the STM games and discounts for additional tix which are standard business just for STMs on the STM appreciation games.

The discount HNIM was referring to was for non-STMs. Those were just STM per game prices, which are higher than the STM appreciation prices STMs can take advantage of. For example:

For that Toronto Game. Section 106. STM appreciation price - $60 per. The discount they were offering? $96 per. Those are normally $125 per.

If you bring up the Ticketmaster map for Monday night you will see why they are offering discounted tickets. Its not pretty. Like barely 10k in the building not pretty.

I think Mike Maniscelco is doing better. Almost to the point of wondering if the video is being delayed. I did have an issue with him talking about getting the win with 2 minutes left after the EN.
I don’t know what’s with announcers not realizing there’s something to that even though it seems superstitious. I’m not superstitious, just stitiuos

Yeah, two minutes left is a lifetime in any sport... we've coughed up 2 goal leads in 30 seconds... and been on the other side like at the Shock at the Rock. (well... not down by two in that situation, but they still scored twice in 80 seconds...)

Wait ... READ an email from marketing? Yeah, no ... skimming is all they're gonna get. Better make it bloody obvious what you're on about right up front. Sorry if I mislead anyone, but hopefully you guys know better than to listen to me on crap like that by now.

Mike's getting better AND we're all getting more used to Mike. Happens all the time.

More of the former than the latter. Last year he didn’t know the other team’s player names. He’s still got a lot of improvement to go, but he’s doing homework.

I miss Forslund! Tripp is a weenie and Mike sucks up to him. I liked when Forslund would ignore/contain/throat punch Tripp.

Chip says the forward lines a little different at practice, but pretty close to how they ended on Saturday, except no more first line Marty

KK/Aho/Turbo
Svech/Trocheck/Necas
Nino/Staal/Fast
Lorentz/Stepan/Marty/Jarvis

No change to the defensive pairings.

4 man 4th line...That's cool. :)

First line Marty is always a thing to have in your pocket, like first line Brock was the last couple of years. Every so often that line needs a little bit of thump in specific games, and specific situations. Nice to have the quality depth and the versatility in the lineup to pull it off without completely throwing things out of whack.

And as much as I like Aho with Necas, there are times when you can have too much avant garde nonsense going on on a first line with those two. Turbo's version of creativity is a little more pragmatic than those two freaks.

I guess I've just gotten used to Tripp over all these years. Yes, he does go on and on....but he also makes some first-rate observations that really help in understanding the play (or players). I think he and Mike are working pretty well together, especially as Mike works to perfect his role. Once he gets there, he won't need to depend as much on Tripp.

“Avant garde nonsense”. I love it. It works well in OT, it worked OK when they were paired on the PK last year. But at even strength, you’re right, they need someone to keep them in line.
