Maybe they should keep him in the AHL next year.Yes and no. While Kitchener's floundered in recent years, he's still playing in the best Junior league in the world and it's his first year in North America.
I would hope, and keep my fingers crossed, that there'll be a bigger leap next year.
No reason why he shouldnt be in the top 9 and get PP timeI don't think sending him to Laval next year is a terrible idea either. I just want him getting minutes and to see gradual improvement.
My only worry about Laval next year: He's going to be buried in the lineup.
There's going to be 2-3 veteran AHL forwards ahead of him, Simoneau/Roy/Kidney/Farrell are all ahead of him. Pitlick might be starting the year there. Heineman & Mysak are probably ahead of him in the pecking order.
Maybe, and I do say maybe, one or two of those players mentioned above spend the year in Montreal. But even then, there's still at least a half dozen players ahead of him.
TLDR: Thinks Struble should leave college as he's physically maxed out his abilities there and would be better served honing the craft in the AHL. He should leave college and Pierre says he rarely feels that way about kids.![]()
McGuire: COL can be very dangerous in playoffs

McGuire’s take on Struble

He is a 13th-15th emergency call up forwardNot so sure Simoneau has no future with us. Just two years ago, nobody thought RHP had a shot. Simoneau probably isn't going to be an NHL regular, but who knows? He's been getting better.
Fifth year eligible in the NCAA I suppose but that's what he said.?
Struble has already spent an entire 4 years in college. Not sure he can go back unless he enrolls as a mature student
