Of all of the things I'm worried about, the re allocation of 22 million leading to us missing the playoffs isn't one of them.

There's real smoke that the Florida Panthers could be gearing up to make a run at Marner. Word is that Toronto has opened the door to a sign-and-trade scenario, where they ink Marner to a max-term extension (eight years) and then flip him to recoup some level of value. - Cam Robinson

There is no scenario in which keeping Marner is preferable to getting rid of him.

Unless, of course, you enjoy the Leafs postseason results even more than I do, and even I'm getting bored with it.
 
Seems unlikely to me that Florida is willing to pay Marner $4M more per year than they pay Matthew Tkachuk, and give up assets for the privilege.

Or they think they can use their culture to get buy in and make the leafs fans regret everything for 8 more years. A valid hypothesis to whether marner is a bitch because he’s playing with other bitches or whether he can change is challenged by the panthers.

Not as bad as Larry Murphy in terms of years to remember leafsnation having enough of a great player. Rather him go to San Jose and be forgotten.
 
Marner is a hell of a player. Think most smart teams would check in to see the cost.

Florida would need him to take a Florida discount most likely though and I don’t see Marner taking $9.
