2025-2026 Off Season Thread - The Rehappening

The Lighting gave up two firsts for Coleman and Goodrow. Then a couple years later it was Paul and Janneaut. Most teams do the same thing.

Florida is the best managed team in the league though.

Laughton was never a C, not an upgrade on what they had and was acquired strictly cause Ontario leaderbean. His salary isnt a problem going forward but might be the most egregious waste of assets under the Shanahan era

I'm really tired of adding guys who "Are good in the room" but can't contribute offensively for shit. It's the same player over and over. Having 5 forwards with 0 goals in the playoffs was ridiculous.

These morons had to balance getting bud pros to help their pussy core get over the hump vs add more skill to the skill

They chose the wrong path and somehow the wrong gud pros and did it year over year save for ROR who bolted as fast as possible

Oilers keep adding support scoring. Leafs never did (Bert+Domi signings were nice for awhile).

I think though it was a rare time we added guys that can score goals. But yeah, still not great. I just hate the plugs who can never score that the idiotic media fawn over.
I knew when I heard non-stop about how loved Laughton was "In the room" in Philly the day we got him we were in trouble.
 
Bennett + Marchand/Ekblad make us better.

There's no other UFA combo that does anything for us, and we have nothing to trade with.
